How You Can Help

Honorariums & Special Occasions

Donating in celebration of a birthday, commitment ceremonies, wedding, anniversary (both personal and corporate), retirement, festive or religious occasion is a wonderful way to add meaning to a special day.

One way to accomplish this is to ask for donations to the IWMF in lieu of gifts. Another is for you to make a donation to the IWMF in lieu of gifts to others.

Major Gifts

Named Gift Funds – For a commitment of $10,000 per year for five years, or a lump sum of $50,000 or more, you can establish a named fund at the IWMF in your own name or in the name of someone you wish to honor. This fund may support Member Services or Research or a combination of the two.

Imagine a Cure Campaign

At the 2013 Ed Forum, the IWMF announced “Imagine a Cure,” a campaign with a goal of raising $9,000,000 by the end of 2016 to support vital member services and WM research through both current gifts and legacy gifts. The response was overwhelming and we surpassed our goal by the end of 2015. During the course of the campaign, new developments in research led to the first FDA-approved drug for WM, Ibrutinib.

Ways to Give

Thank you for considering a gift to the IWMF. As a volunteer organization with a very small staff, we depend on gifts to provide the services to support those afflicted by WM and to fund the research that will lead to better treatments and a cure for this rare, orphan disease. If you wish you can direct your gift to either the Member Services Fund or the Research Fund.

The IWMF is a volunteer-based and -managed not-for-profit organization. Anyone can be a volunteer – there's no such thing as a "typical" volunteer. Our volunteers are as diverse as the volunteer opportunities available:
