Colorado/South Wyoming Support Group Meeting
October 14, 2017 9:30 AM
Colorado North Room at Presbyterian/St. Luke's hospital
1719 E 19th Ave, Denver
Happy End of Summer! We have confirmed that Dr. Jorge Castillo of the Bing Center for WM at Dana Farber (Harvard Medical School), will come to Denver on October 14th to speak to our group! We are thrilled to have him, as he is one of the leading clinical practitioners for WM. He currently sees 1000 WM patients at his Boston Clinic, and works with Dr. Steve Treon, who has been here to speak to us in the past.
Dr. Castillo will speak on recent advances in the diagnosis and treatments for WM. He will report on new findings, new research, new trials, and even more new drugs on the horizon.
We plan to have sign in, mingling & sharing, a lite breakfast (sponsored by the LLS) at 9:30am. The meeting will start at about 10:am. Dr. Castillo will talk for about an hour and have plenty of time for questions & discussion following. We plan to wrap up by noon or 1pm. Come, bring your questions, and discuss your issues with other WMers & caregivers, and hear the update about our disease first hand from the WM expert, Dr. Castillo.
Where: Our meeting will be held on the first floor of the Presbyterian/St. Luke's hospital at 19th & Gilpin in Denver, CO. Free underground parking is available at the Main entrance. Proceed into the hospital entrance at 19th & Gilpin, go down and to your left into the parking garage. Walk out and into the hospital entrance, by the library. Our room, the Colorado North conference room, is directly across from the library and near the cafeteria on the first floor of the hospital. It is the same room we used last year for our fall meeting.
RSVP or Questions?: We need a more accurate count for the lunch supplier, and room only holds 70. Please reply no later than Oct. 6th, to me (Cindy) if you plan to attend or have questions: Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 970-227-4686.
The LLS is sponsoring food & drink for us at this meeting - many thanks to them!
The IWMF is helping us pay for the room charge, and providing many of the materials we will have available to you that day.
Thanks to each of these groups for their support & funding. Please support them with your involvement and donations.
