Peter deNardis: Univ. of Pitt’s Jefferson Award winner

In addition to his responsibilities as senior management information analyst in the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Planning and Analysis and as a part-time instructor in the University’s Department of Computer Science, Peter DeNardis was recognized in 2011 as the Western Pennsylvania Jefferson Award winner for his volunteer services to the IWMF. In a comprehensive feature article in Pitt’s faculty and staff newspaper, “The University Times,” Pete discusses with the editor his own diagnosis of WM, how it has affected his day-to-day life, interactions with other chronic diseases, his treatments and coping mechanisms, his recovery and future prospects, and the prospects for new WM therapies. Pete plays a prominent role in the IWMF – he is a Board member and the Foundation’s webmaster, and moderates the Foundations on-line forum, “IWMF-Talk”.
