Anderson Conference on "Living Fully With Cancer"

the Anderson Network, where cancer patients, their families,
and caregivers can share hope, support, and understanding with
others like themselves, regardless of where they received treatment.

Forum in Washington, D.C.
October 25-26, 2003
Join the Lymphoma Research Foundation
at its eighth annual Patient Educational Forum on Lymphoma!
The 2003 Ed Forum will take place just blocks from the White
House at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C., on Saturday
and Sunday, October 25-26, with a special advocacy training
session and welcome reception and dinner on Friday, October
24.
Ed Forum chair Morton Coleman, M.D.,
has helped LRF develop an exciting program for the conference,
featuring presentations led by top lymphoma experts and patient
support specialists, including sessions on lymphoma diagnosis
and biology, promising new research, imaging technologies,
and clinical trials. Also on the agenda is a Waldenstrom’s
Macroglobulinemia breakout session led by Morie Gertz, M.D.,
of the Mayo Clinic, and a WM networking group, in which survivors
can share their experiences and offer one another information
and support.
Sessions will also address
nutrition, insurance and reimbursement, communication and healthy
survivorship. The Forum will offer many opportunities for attendees
to interact with the experts and network with other patients
and caregivers.

UCLA to Host
International Summit on Waldenstrom's
November 7-9,
2003
The Second International Patient and Physician
Summit on Waldenstrom’s
Macroglobulinemia will be held at UCLA in Los Angeles on November
7—9, 2003. This summit will include seminars on the history
and epidemiology of WM, its genetics and biology, clinical
presentation and diagnostic factors, as well as treatment options
with an emphasis on new drugs and clinical trials available
for the disease. The summit is open to physicians, patients
with WM or other lymphomas, their families and caregivers.
Chaired by Dr. Christos Emmanouilides, member of the IWMF scientific
Advisory Committee, it promises to be
a vivid, productive and highly interactive event. The IWMF

Spring
2004 Educational Forum
This Forum will
be held from Friday, May 21 ¯ Sunday, May 23 at
the Marriott Lincolnshire Resort, northwest of Chicago.
The Lincolnshire qualifies as a true "resort" rather
than only a hotel. It has its own golf course, indoor
and outdoor swimming pools, 170 acres including an 8-mile
hiking/biking trail that passes the Wisconsin-Illinois
border, live theater, an indoor tennis and racquetball
facility, and a fitness center. Forum attendees may find
the Lincolnhire worth an extended stay, either before
or after the Forum.
