EVENTS CALENDAR FOR 2007/2008

HOLD THAT DATE!
2008 EDUCATIONAL FORUM

Registration begins at 9 a.m. on Friday,
May 16, 2008 and early-bird sessions start
at 10 a.m. The conference ends at noon on
Sunday, May, 18.

Overview
The conference will feature researchers who will report on IWMF-funded studies as well as speakers on
complementary practices to enhance overall wellness.

The 2008 IWMF Educational Forum highlights the excellent progress made in medical research sponsored by the foundation. Drs. Ansell, Ghobrial and Pilarski will discuss how various proteins and genes affect the progression of the disease and show methods of counteracting their actions. Dr. Treon will report on the results from the largest single research project sponsored by IWMF.

Experts in the field will provide information of value to newly diagnosed patients and treatment veterans.  For those of you who are interested in a layman's view of our immune system and how it can be circumvented by disease, a special "early-bird" session will be held on Friday morning.

The new patient data base will be introduced and its value demonstrated.  The treatment option of stem cell transplantation will be explored, while the use of gene profiling in searching for a cure will be explained.  The conference will conclude with the invited doctors answering your questions at the "Ask the Doctor" session.

Invited medical speakers include:
  • Rafat Abonour, MD - Indiana University School of Medicine
  • Stephen Ansell, MD - Mayo Clinic
  • Richard Furman, MD - Weill Medical College, Cornell University
